Smile Design
To have a missing tooth or having stained or malformed can have a very negative impact on a person’s appearance and make people very self conscious about their smile and lead to the loss of confidence.
Most people prefer to have missing teeth replaced – especially front teeth – to improve the appearance of their smile, or to make eating easier. But some people do not mind having a gap.
Missing tooth is not only a cosmetic problem, it has other health implications too. A missing back tooth can affect the way upper and lower teeth bite together and the teeth on either side may start to lean into the gap. In such cases, a dentist may recommend tooth replacement, even if it’s not visible when a person is talking or smiling.
If one has a number of back teeth missing on one side of the mouth, this can cause muscle and joint pain in jaw because the person would only use one side to chew. Replacing the missing teeth may help to treat these symptoms.
At smile design section of Dr Sachin Arora’s centre we keep in mind the patient’s cosmetic requirement as well as health requirement. First every case is evaluated that if they need smile design only for cosmetic or also health reasons. The treatment is then planned keeping in mind that best results are obtained with minimum surgical intervention and a treatment which lasts longer.
The treatment would include or exclude different aspects depending on case to case like :
- Gum treatment
- Cleaning/bleaching
- Crowns
- Bridges
- Orthodontic treatment
- Etc
